Laura Miller is the national best-selling author of eight novels, one book of poetry and a children's book. She's also the recipient of the Mid-Missouri Writers First Place in Non-Fiction Award. She was born in the Missouri River Bottoms in Berger, Mo., and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzou). While in college, she was a 400-meter and 600-yard runner on the university's track and field team. She later graduated from Mizzou with a degree in newsprint journalism and a minor in sociology and spent some years as a newspaper reporter, covering government and business news.
Laura spent some time in San Diego, Calif., and Charleston, S.C., before moving back to the Midwest. She now lives in Kansas City, Mo., with her husband.
When she's not working on her next small-town romance, you can probably find her pretending to be a chef on Chopped or moonlighting as the voice of T-Rex for her nieces and nephews.
