Recently, I was asked a question by Anna on Goodreads. She wanted to know who, of all my characters, was my favorite and why. And Anna already knew. She already knew that asking me that question was like asking me to choose my favorite child! But I love the question, and I'm going to do my best at answering it! So, Anna, here it goes:
Butterfly Weeds and My Butterfly
Will~He's my first. (And my mother would say that fact holds some weight. ...Well, she'd tell me in private, away from my other two, younger sisters. ...Just kidding, Koph and Ape! Just kidding. ;) ). Will's a firefighter, who has a beautiful voice. Of course, I love that about him! And he knows what he wants, and he possesses this UNWAVERING love. But he's not perfect, and I love that about him, too.
Julia~She's independent and so strong-willed, but she also knows when to follow her heart. And I like her courage.
Jeff~Will's best friend. I think we all know or knew a "Jeff" at some time. I like him because he's awkward and because he's a great friend.
For All You Have Left
By Way of Accident
When Cicadas Cry
A Bird on a Windowsill
So, who's my favorite?!
I HAVE NO IDEA!
Maybe you're a better judge!

I write about rain on tin roofs, gravel roads, old trucks with holes in the floorboards and small-town summer nights. I grew up on a farm in a little Midwestern town. Now, I live in Kansas City, Mo., with my weatherman husband.
